Submission Guidelines

Climate Finance Watch invites original contributions that critically examine climate finance, with a special focus on India. To maintain high standards of credibility, accessibility, and academic rigor, contributors are requested to follow these guidelines:

1. Scope of Submissions

  • Articles should focus on climate finance, including policy analysis, budget tracking, international negotiations, adaptation/mitigation financing, equity concerns, and grassroots impacts.
  • Submissions may be analytical essays, commentary, explainer pieces, or evidence-based opinion articles.
  • Priority will be given to pieces with a clear India perspective or relevance to India’s climate finance debates.

2. Length & Formatting

  • Word count: 1,200–1,800 words (exceptions allowed for exceptional submissions).
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing 1.5.
  • Use subheadings for clarity. Avoid overly long paragraphs.
  • Please submit in Word (.docx) format.

3. Citations & References

  • All factual claims, data, and quotations must be properly cited.
  • Use the Chicago author-date style (e.g., Sharma 2022).
  • Provide a full reference list at the end. For web sources, include stable URLs.
  • Hyperlinks to open-access sources are encouraged in-text for ease of access, but they do not replace full references.

4. Originality & Ethics

  • Submissions must be original and unpublished. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
  • Authors are responsible for accuracy and for securing permissions for any copyrighted material (charts, figures, images).
  • Disclosure of any conflicts of interest is mandatory.

5. Tone & Accessibility

  • Write in a style that balances academic rigor with readability. Avoid jargon; explain technical terms briefly.
  • Where possible, connect analysis to real-world implications for policy, communities, and justice.

6. Review & Editing Process

  • Submissions will undergo editorial review for clarity, rigor, and relevance.
  • Editors may request revisions before publication.
  • Final acceptance is at the discretion of the editorial team.

7. How to Submit

  • Send your submission as a Word file to: submissions@climatefinancewatch.blog
  • Include:
    • Name, institutional affiliation (if any), and short bio (50–80 words).
    • A suggested title (max 12 words).
    • 3–5 keywords for indexing.

8. Copyright & Republication

  • By submitting, authors grant Climate Finance Watch the right to publish their work online.
  • Authors retain copyright and may republish elsewhere with proper acknowledgment of first publication on Climate Finance Watch.
